Should talks fall through, there is a possibility that the Super Eagles of Nigeria will play the Argentine national team again. Already the Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) is in talks with its counterparts in Argentina for a possible re-match.
The Nigeria Football Federation is also talking with the Ghanaian FA for an international friendly match with the Super Eagles.
According to SuperSport.com discussions are ongoing with the Ghana Football Association for the Eagles to confront the Black Stars in August in London.
The Argentina Football Association was not happy with the 4-1 humiliation suffered in the hands of the Super Eagles wants a rematch for its men, the Albiceleste, against the national team of Nigeria.
The planned rematch may be held in the month of September in a yet to be named venue.
The general secretary of the football federation, Musa Amadu, revealed that two international friendly games are on the cards for the Super Eagles but cannot confirm them yet.
“Yes two friendly matches are being lined up for the men’s national team. One should come up on August 9 just before the season kicks off in Europe. The other one is billed for September 6. But all of these are not confirmed yet since talks are still on. In about a week or more we should get a clearer picture of the teams the Super Eagles will play and the venues for the matches,” said Amadu.
