Sunshine Stars of Akure and Kaduna United football club have progressed to the group stages of the CAF Confederations Cup. Yesterday, at the Kaduna Township Stadium, Kaduna defeated Entente Sportive Setif of Algeria 3-0.

The goals came off the boots of Rabiu Baita and the mercurial Jude Aneke, who scored a brace. Kaduna lost 1-0 in the first leg in Algeria.

The Maurice Cooreman tutored boys approached the encounter in a business- like manner playing with attack consciousness with the sole aim of winning the match and qualifying for the group stages and never disappointed.

Two Sportive Setif players received red cards. The game witnessed the presence of ex- international, Garba Lawal and the deputy Governor of Kaduna State Alh Yero.

In Ijebu Ode, Sunshine Stars of Akure also defeated Al Ittihad of Libya 1-0 to progress to the group stages even though the team manager of Al Ittihad raised questions about the quality of officiating.
