The crisis of confidence rocking the Lagos State chapter of the People’s Democratic Party (PDP) took a nasty twist yesterday when two chieftains of the party engaged one another in war of words over their loyalty to the party.

While former Deputy National Chairman (South) of the PDP, Chief Olabode George accused former Minister of Works, Senator Adeseye Ogunlewe of being a mole working for  the rival Action Congress of Nigeria (ACN), the former minister on the other hand accused the party chieftain of playing politics of relevance with the future of the party and said that he had always remained faithful and committed to the progress of the PDP in Lagos State.

George who spoke at a news conference convened to appraise the outcome of the just concluded local government elections held in his personal residence at Ikoyi accused Ogunlewe of covertly working against the PDP in the state.

Delivering a paper titled, A time for deep reflection by the people of Lagos State, he also used the occasion to carpet the ruling ACN in the state and accused it of deliberately subverting the will of the people via the outcome of the LG poll.
