The controversy concerning the leadership of the Nigerian of Football Federation (NFF) has taken another turn with the information that the chairmen of 20 Premier League clubs will soon go into a meeting to decide the way forward for their clubs and the NFF. The club owners are fed up with the uncertainty concerning the league and the leadership of the Football Federation and want an end to all the problems immediately.
Nigerian football has in recent times been bedeviled by a plethora of problems, the Harrison Jalla-led Nigerian Football Association has challenged the Aminu Maigari-led Football Federation claiming that the Maigari-led board is illegal and that they should be the right occupants of the glass house.
Sources within the Football Federation have told LEADERSHIP SPORTS that the club owners have not been swayed by the news that the Director general of the National Sports Commission, Chief Patrick Ekeji is trying to mediate the crises concerning the leadership of the Glass House and also have demands of their own-including the return of the ousted Davidson Owumi as the head of the NPL and the resolution of the conflict concerning the title sponsor of the Nigerian Premier League. It is alleged that they are angry that no money is coming to them from the NFF and want a sponsor for the league as soon as possible.
