Youth Sports Federation of Nigeria (YSFON) presidential aspirant in the forthcoming bye election, Nasir Yusuf Gawuna, has pledged to decentralise the administrative organ of the organisation in order to give more people opportunity to contribute their quota to the development of youth sports in the country.
Speaking to Leadership sports exclusively, the former Nasarawa Local Government Area Council chairman in Kano State, said he is determined to lead YSFON towards positive change. “My passion and desire to reposition YSFON and bring back its vibrancy in talents discovery are the major motivation for my candidacy in the forthcoming elections into the office of the president. In the constitutions, there is provision to have one vice president from each of the six geo-political zones of the country. This has not been met. I want to implement that part of the constitution and decentralise the day-to -day running of the association to allow people the opportunity to participate. Because when you build a wall and a closed house within the association which does not give room for others to be part of, it will always breed bad blood and cause disaffection in the overall result. I will open up the body for all interested parties to play their roles, and I think this will take care of any misgivings and help the body to move ahead,” he said.
