The Kwara State police command yesterday paraded two armed robbery suspects who specialised in car snatching, Fahad Kamaldeen and Taoheed Olayode.
Parading the suspects in Ilorin, the state capital, the command’s spokesperson, ASP Dabo Ezekiel said Fahad Kamaldeen had earlier been arrested after a robbery incident in a supermarket in the metropolis.
Dabo said, “You would recall that on May 3, 2011 there was a robbery incident at a supermarket in Ilorin where one of the suspects was arrested with a Nissan vehicle used for the operation that day.”
He added that “investigation was intensified which led to the subsequent arrest of one Taoheed Lamidi with Honda Accord car with registration number Kwara AH-195-FUF. The suspect was also found to be in possession of an Emerald automatic pump action gun, 96 cartridges, one AK47 magazine, 62 AK47 ammunition, charms and Nokia phones, etc.
He warned criminals to stop their unlawful trade or leave the state if they valued their lives.
Lamidi, a native of Oyo in Oyo State, claimed to be a bus driver in Lagos, and limps due to alleged gunshot injuries he sustained.
