Gets 100,000 USD, Toyota RAV 4 and Glo ambassadorship
After an explosive, power packed and emotional grand finale, talented Christian Doherty, has emerged the winner of the third season of Glo Naija Sings. Christian who was selected from the Abuja auditions to participate in the Top 10 contest, had shown good form and consistency week after week before the final show.
Competing with highly talented and versatile contestants, Vicky and Mattade at the grand finale, it was evident that any of the contestants could go away with the coveted prize. But Africa voted and the title went to Christian.
This was at the end of a spectacular and star-studded grand finale which kicked off with the “elegant stallion”, Onyeka Onwenu performing her popular hit, One Love with the Top 10 to a standing ovation from the audience.
The Top 3 also performed new, catchy singles which received rave reviews from the audience. The show also featured spectacular guest performances by Omawumi, Glo Naija Sings host, Darey and Season 2 winner, Casey who performed his snappy single Not My Girl.
Welcoming the winner to the exclusive club of Glo ambassadors and handing over the keys to a Toyota RAV 4, Globacom’s director of sales, Mr Patrick Awotwi, congratulated Christian for putting up a spectacular performance. He also thanked the Top 10 contestants and all who participated in the show for displaying great skills and outstanding talents.
He also gave thanks to MNET for putting together another fantastic season of Glo Naija Sings and gave kudos to the fans and subscribers who participated in the show, week after week and spoke loud and clear with their votes.
Also on hand to present a dummy cheque for 100,000 USD to Christian was the managing director of MNET, Mrs. Biola Alabi, who congratulated the winner and thanked the sponsors, the contestants, the fans, audience, the producers and the media for their role in making possible another great season of Glo Naija Sings.
