As part of its strategy to strengthen its position as Nigeria’s leading retail bank in the country, Unity Bank has announced the opening of 17 branches at different locations across the six geo - political zones in the country.
In a statement made available to journalists in Abuja, the bank’s Head of Media and External Communications, Sani Mohammed Zaria, revealed that the growth brought the total number of the bank’s branches to 241.
“This remarkable achievement places the bank in a suitable position in the financial services by having 241 branches,” Zaria said.
Unity Bank also plans to expand its branch network by opening two additional branches before the end of the year. This demonstrates gradual deliverance to the promise to reach 243 by the end of year 2011.
Reacting to media enquiries, Zaria Explained:
“This demonstrates our commitment as a bank to increase customer base and widen the scope of our business operation in Nigeria and ensure accessibility of our cutting edge banking services to customers.
The new branches are sporting the full architectural design of the rebranded bank and going forward, all new buildings of the bank would conform to the design.”
