The Supervisory Councillor for Special Duties, Abuja Municipal Area Council (AMAC), Mr.

Alex Edim, has disclosed plans by the council to upgrade the Lugbe Market, along Abuja Airport Road and give it a more befitting outlook.

Edim said that was one of the decisions reached at the AMAC council meeting.

He said the council had already given a 21 day notice to those who had allocation papers to the market to pay the relevant fees prescribed or forfeit such allocations and warned that the council would not entertain any form of complaint or grant extension at the expiration of the period.
“The issue of market is very important, especially as it relates to Lugbe
and Jabi Markets. Contracts have already been awarded and the developers are on site.”

He further stated that AMAC had also approved the access road to Gwadanape Village in AMAC and work was ongoing. This was just as he revealed that the council had also approved the electrification of 22 villages in AMAC and the construction of six asphalt roads in different areas of the council.
