Kano Expends N230m On Students Bursary

Kano State Government said that it has cleared a back-log of over N230 million un-paid scholarships to students from the State studying in various institutions of higher learning.

The government also said that it has set aside over N41 million for the payment of scholarships to 5,054 students of the Sa’adatu Rimi College of education who successfully went through the screening process organized by the management  board.

Speaking to journalists shortly after the commencement of payment  to beneficiaries, executive secretary of the board, Engineer Usman Ririwai, said all payments were done irrespective of class, course of study of the students.

He said that the main concern of the State Governor and the board was to see to the overall development of education in the State even as he said that the State Governor, Rabiu  Kwankwaso, has a special concern for science and technical areas.
