There is no doubt that Governor Aminu Bello Masari of Katsina State is a workaholic and a leader who strongly believe in visiting projects awarded by his administration to see their level of compliance with the global best practices. The governor made it a habit even out of tight schedules to create time to visit projects awarded by his administration for the advancement of the lives of people of the state. the many projects executed in less than two years by the Masari led administration covers the areas of health, education, water supply, agriculture, employment generation, security among others.
When the governor was recently invited by Chinese investors to visit their country to discuss areas of mutual interest, the governor took time on his way out of the country to embark on a nine hour visit to project sites across the state. The governor took off from Katsina as early as 7: 00 am and move to Kankia town, while in the town the governor visited the Kankia College of Health Technology. At the health college the governor first met the management of the institution and the state commissioner of health, Hajiya Mariatu Bala Usman where they jointly briefed him on the myriad of problems facing the institution. Some of the problems include dilapidated structures and equipment needed for the accreditation and upgrading of some of the college’s courses. After carefully listening to the two sides the governor there and then directed for the setting up of an internal committee that would articulate, assessed and come up with a blue print that would ensure the speedy rehabilitation of the college’s infrastructures. The governor also took time to visit all the class rooms and students hostels in the college.
From the health college, Governor Masari moved to the Kankia General Hospital which was under total rehabilitation. At the general hospital Kankia, the governor inspected the OPD, the wards and other critical sections in the hospital. The governor while speaking at the hospital promised to continue rehabilitating and upgrading health facilities in the state hospitals that suffered many years of neglect.
The governor noted that to ensure effective health care delivery in the state no fewer than 500 health personnel of different cadres were employed. He promised that more of such health professionals would be engaged in the coming years.
After inspecting health facilities in Kankia, the governor and his entourage moved to Malumfashi town in Malumfashi local government area of the state. while in Malumfashi the governor moved straight to Government Unity Secondary School, Malumfashi where he inspected the on-going rehabilitation of dormitories, classrooms, staff quarters and other buildings in the school. Masari similarly inspected the on-going rehabilitation at the government girls schools in Malumfashi were it was under going full rehabilitation.
With the malumfashi historic inspection over, governor Masari headed to Funtua town where he inspected the overcrowded Funtua Central motor park. Before the visit Funtua community had through their elected representatives and elders visited the governor at the government house Katsina where they urged him to come to their rescue for the decongestion of the motor park. At the motor park an unprecedented crowd welcome the governor and express gratitude for the timely visit.
True to his words, work has commenced at the Funtua motor park, where all illegal structures that over the years impeded smooth vehicular movement in park.
After the successful Funtua tour, the governor the same day moved to Dantankari Village in Dandume Local Government area of Katsina state where he inspected a primary school that has suffered years of neglect. The governor promised to rehabilitate and equip all primary schools across the state to ensure the boosting of grass root education in the state.
With the Dantankari visit over around 7: 00 pm, the governor headed straight to Kaduna on his way to the historic visit to the ancient Chinese nation to meet with investors on how best to develop Katsina economy. With the twelve hours visit to projects sites across the state, Governor Masari has demonstrated that he always have the people of Katsina state at heart and is always conscious of providing quality programmes and projects for the benefit of people of the state.
