Kano Pillars FC has promised Ikorodu FC that the humiliating defeat which the sai ma su gida suffered at the hands of the Shooting Stars in Ibadan a few weeks ago would be avenged when both sides meet in a NPFL Week 35 encounter on Saturday.
Pillars’ assistant coach, Hassan Abdallah, was confident that his side would put up some great fight, insisting that the former champions remained unperturbed by the new-found form of relegation-bound Ikorodu United.
“We are looking beyond our match against Ikorodu United. At the moment, we are like wounded lions after that painful 0-4 loss to Shooting Stars which served as a wake-up call.
“I must tell you we are going to play Ikorodu as a team hungry to restore its pride. We know they have been doing well in recent times but that is the least of our worries as our own focus is to shock them in front of their fans in Abeokuta, their new home,” Abdallah said.
