The Chairman of the League Management Company (LMC); Shehu Dikko has announced plans to help the Nigeria Women Premier League financially.
Dikko said the LMC decision to back the country’s women topflight division was part of the bodies’ resolve to encourage the growth of the league.
The LMC boss said, “We would be supporting morally and financially under the solidarity payment structure we have to boost other leagues. The women league has already made a submission to us on the requirements. Recall I personally attended the women league congress and was part of all discussions and decisions so we know what to do.
“Our objective now is to get the current season concluded successfully before reviewing strategies on how the women football can be revamped successfully. Hopefully, by then the new board of the women league would have been constituted and in place to drive the entire process with our support,” he said.
