Following the draws for the 10th African Women’s Nations’ Cup in Palais Polyvalent des Sports, Yaounde, Cameroon, on Sunday, Nigeria’s senior women’s national team, the Super Falcons, have been pitted against Mali, Ghana and Kenya in Group B, for the tournament slated for November.

Hosts, Cameroon, are drawn in Group A alongside Egypt, South Africa and Zimbabwe.

The Falcons, who won the championships seven different times – in 1998, 2000, 2002, 2004, 2006, 2010 and 2014 – to become the most successful women football team in Africa, have not had it easy in recent times, having lost a number of games to the likes of Ghana and Equatorial Guinea.

The Nigerians, however, still remain favourites to lift the trophy of the tournament which is expected to begin from November 19 to December 3, 2016 in Cameroun.
