Jukun/ Tiv Clash Claims 3 In Benue



A day after governor Samuel Ortom signed into law the anti Open grazing kidnapping and cultism bills,3 persons lost their lives while hundreds of houses were razed following a communal clashes yesterday between suspected Jukun  and Tiv youths at Fiidi market opposite NAF base in Makurdi local government area of Benue state
LEADERSHIP gathered that, a quarrel began in a drinking joint in Fiidi market  around 3 pm between a Tiv and Jukun youths and later led to a fight that took the intervention of the Airforce to calmed it down and keep survellance on the area till around 2am when the Jukun youths discovered that the Airforce had left the place they mobilized and came back in full force, and attacked the community killing 3 and leaving many others with various degree of injuries.
Some of the residents who flee from their homes and were taken refuge at the home of elder Asam Adamu opposite Airforce base gate  including Tersoo Tor, Thomas Shima, Grace Terver in an interview with correspondent said the fight began in Fiidi market and was later calmed down by Airforce.
