Engr. Tunji Ariyomo, former Special Adviser to the governor of Ondo State on Information Technology and pioneer coordinator of the Ondo State Information Technology Development Center (SITDEC) has weighed in on the INEC-Bello saga with the verdict that the governor did no wrong.
Ariyomo in a public statement today rather blamed INEC for implementing a technology solution that is not fully automated and that left huge gap for exploitation.
He queried the rationale behind the possibility of double registrations if INEC had properly automated its processes.
In his words “And you are blaming Gov. Yahaya Bello for registering to vote – his constitutionally guaranteed civic right. And with such lousy excuse that he registered in 2011. 2011? That was 6 years ago. How is he to know that you still kept such data in an age whilst INEC is notorious for not keeping record. Many have been known to search for their names in vain on INEC registers.”
