The love with which he was surrounded in his final days was so great it cannot be quantified in words alone…. Roger Moore was the oldest Bond ever hired for films in taking on the role when he was 46. Mr. Moore also had the longest run in the role, beginning in 1973 with “Live and Let Die” and winding up in 1985 with “A View to a Kill.” Along with his famous Bond role in Live and Let Die (1973), The Man with the Golden Gun (1974), The Spy Who Loved Me (1977), Moonraker (1979), For Your Eyes Only (1981), Octopussy (1983), and A View to a Kill (1985), Moore was also known for 1960s TV series The Persuaders and The Saint.
