At least, one person was killed in Port Harcourt, yesterday, following flooding that ravaged parts of Port Harcourt, the Rivers State capital and other communities in the state, as a result of more then 24 hours downpour.
This is as Governor Nyesom Wike has assured residents of Port Harcourt and other flooded communities that his administration will tackle the environmental challenge headlong.
LEADERSHIP gathered that the victim, identified as Elijah, was electrocuted following the flooding of his apartment at Uyo Street in the Diobu area of Port Harcourt.
Some of the community affected by the flood include Old Port Harcourt Township, Rumuokoro, Diobu, Ohiamini, Rumukalagbor, as well as the zonal and state command building of the Federal Road Safety Commission (FRSC), all located in Port Harcourt City and Obio/Akpor local government areas of the state.
