Unknown gunmen suspected to be kidnappers have abducted a mother of a three weeks old baby and a director with the Kaduna State ministry of education, science and technology at residence in Kaduna.
The abductors stormed Mararaban Rido community, a suburb of Kaduna metropolis on Sunday, and went away with two person after firing guns to scare residence.
Our Correspondent who was at the residents of the kidnapped victims gathered that the gunmen arrived the community at about 11:15 pm on Sunday, broke into the residences before taken away the nursing mother and the director of higher learning at the Kaduna State ministry of education, science and technology, Mr. John Bala Gora.
Family sources told LEADERSHIP that the kidnappers have contacted both families and are demanding N50m as ransom.
“The kidnappers have call, they are demanding N40m to release the director,” a family relations of Mr. Gora who did not want her name mentioned told our Correspondent.
For the Nursing Mother, a family relations, Mr. Abel said, “the kidnappers have call us and they are demanding N10m ransom”.
Confirming the story, a deputy director, higher education in the ministry, Steven Haruna, told Journalists that the kidnappers stormed the victim’s house, fired multiple gunshots in the air to scare people and pulled down a section of the fence before taking Gorah away.
He also said that the kidnappers abducted a nursing mother in the neighbourhood, leaving her three weeks old baby behind.
The spokesperson of the Kaduna State Police Command, ASP Mukhtar Hussaini Aliyu who confirmed the incidence said “the Police have intensify efforts to rescue the kidnapped victims from the hands of their kidnappers.”
