BY ANDY ASEMOTA, Katsina –
Katsina State recorded 55 per cent success in West African Examination Council (WAEC) result this year as against about 10 per cent recorded by the state in previous years.
The state governor, Aminu Bello Masari, made this known at the weekend when he received the state chapter of Awareness for Good Leadership, Peace and Development Association led by its grand patron, Senator Abba Ali, in Government House Katsina.
Masari, who said the success involves a commitment to huge investment in the education sector since the inception of his administration, lamented that the sector fell into deplorable state over the years.
He revealed that the education sector topped his priorities since 2015 in order to reverse the ugly scenario inherited by his administration.
On the report of the group on the government’s policies and programmes, Masari cautioned officials and consultants supervising the government’s projects to guard against poor execution, adding that anyone caught aiding and abetting poor execution of projects and policies under any guise would be sanctioned.
Earlier, the grand patron of the association, Senator Abba Ali, told the governor that they were at the government house to brief him on their efforts at promoting the achievements of the present administration.
