Resident Doctors Tasks FG on implementation Of Agreement

The National Association of Resident Doctors have advised the federal government as well as all non- compliant chief executives to eschew actions inimical to the present peace being experienced in the health sector to avoid further escalation of brewing tension in the sector.
The doctors at the end of their 37 the Annual General Meeting (AGM) held in Abuja reiterated her commitment to full implementation of the Memorandum of terms of settlements reached with the federal government which led to the suspension of their last strike action.
The association in a communiqué issued at the end of the AGM said it has resolved to use all legitimate means at her disposal to forestall any breach in the implementation of the Memorandum Of Terms Of Settlements.
The communiqué signed by the ne2wly elected president of the Association, Dr Ugochukwu Chinaka as well as secretary general, Dr Osinachukwu Nnadi and publicity secretary, Dr Ugochukwu Eze however said the association have witnessed considerable implementation of the agreement reached with government but warned that government must abide by the timely reached with the union
The communiqué reads partly, “NARD resolved to use all areas of advocacy to all relevant stakeholders in order to sort out the lingering issues in the State University Teaching Hospital (SUTH). We believe in the mantra of ‘same doctor, same patient, same treatment’, hence, doctors in SUTH should be renumerated as their counterparts in the federal teaching hospitals/ institutions
