Nasarawa State government is set to spend over N244 million on the renovation of the Lafia Golf course.
Commissioner for youth and sports, Mr Bamaiyi Anangba, made this known in an interview with LEADERSHIP in Lafia, yesterday.
According to the commissioner ,the governor is in a haste to develop all sectors to attract investors to the state, which is why they want to give the golf course a facelift.
“The governor always told us he is in a haste to develop the state and not only in the area of sports, but all sectors and like you know, the golf course was among some resolutions passed recently by the state executive council and His Excellency, want to give the golf course an international out look
“As we are talking, the governor has graciously approved over N244 million for rehabilitation, construction and upgrading of the golf course along Makurdi road, here in Lafia.”
Anangba, who disclosed that renovation work has commenced in earnest, said it would be completed within the stipulated time frame.
He said the initial plan of the golf course consist of a five star hotel, but due to financial constraint government will only focus on rehabilitation and construction of some new features.
