The Kaduna State Government has partnered Verdant Zeal with a view to identifying and developing various ecosystems that will contribute to economic growth in the state.
Speaking during an Innovention Roundtable at PAN Nigeria Limited Headquarters, the convener, Dr. Tunji Olugbodi said that the innovation was conceived as a platform to examine the question of Africa’s development.
“As global trends keep changing and the economic indices continue to defy predictions, it has become evident that to be relevant in politics, business and the society, leaders must focus on identifying and developing the various ecosystems that contribute economic growth.
“For the past six years, during the month of March, we have gathered and attracted patrons from both public and private sectors, local and international participants, scholars and corporate executives, to plot the agenda for Africa’s development, with Nigeria as the epicenter,” he said.
He explained further that the objective of the innovention series are to promote strategic, economic and political leadership, front line conventions about original thinking and ideals, deepen the entrepreneurial and business ecosystems.
Other objectives he mentioned are to inspire technology and inventions, to build the new African narrative and bridge the gap between intent (aspiration) and performance (actualization)
In his remarks, the Managing Director, PAN Nigeria Limited, Ibrahim Boyi said that Nigeria is a business friendly environment, saying that the participation of PAN in the innovention is part of its corporate social responsibility to impact knowledge and share ideals on issue regarding human development.
“Over 600 Nigerians have benefited from PAN acquisition scheme and other corporate social responsibility programme . We buy Nigerian product to grow Nigeria and that is our focus,” Boyi said.
The Special Adviser to the governor on Project implementation and unit, Martins Akumazi Who represented the Kaduna State Governor, Mallam Nasir El-Rufai at the occasion lauded the initiator of the project, saying that choice of Kaduna State after Lagos State is not a mistake, as he assured them that the governor is in the forefront to move northern economic forward.
“ The governor has been working tirelessly to ensuring that the lost glory Kaduna State is restored in order to meet with the global economy trends,” he said.
