The Surveyor-General of the Federation, Mr. Ebisintei Bietoru Awudu, has refuted media reports that a cabal around President Buhari has been tormenting him, saying his relationship with the presidency has remained cordial and that nobody is stopping him from doing his work.
Mr Awudu, stated this is an exclusive interview with LEADERSHIP yesterday in Abuja, adding that, “The possible existence of one or two of my ambitious subordinates who want to exploit certain situations in vain efforts to have me replaced by them does not aggregate to being tormented by the presidency.”
A widely published newspaper article had earlier claimed that a director in the Office of the Surveyor-General of the Federation from Katsina was sparing no efforts to see to the sack of his boss, using some people in the presidency as linchpins.
But the Surveyor-General, has assured that he has remained focused and purposeful on his job, saying he could not afford to disappoint President Buhari and Nigerians in general.
“The President is a man of God, who believes in justice and fair play. He fought as a military man to keep Nigeria one. There is no way he could pander to the whims and caprices of selfish individuals trying to sow seeds of division, whether in my office or elsewhere,” said Mr Awudu.
