Kaduna polytechnic chapter of the Academic Staff Union of Polytechnics (ASUP) has, on Monday, joined the indefinite nationwide strike embarked upon by its national body.
Speaking in a telephone interview with LEADERSHIP in Kaduna, Kaduna polytechnic’s ASUP Public relations officer, Abbaf Mohammed, said the strike action was in full force.
According to him”: We are observing the strike here at Kadpoly, although our students are on holiday. The holiday indirectly affected the impact of the strike here. We are advising students not to resume if the strike continues” Mohammed said.
The decision of the ASUP’s strike followed the outcome of the National Executive Council meeting of the union held last week Saturday at the Kaduna Polytechnic, Kaduna State.
According to them, the industrial action follows the failure of the Federal Government to implement all the agreements it entered with the union since 2016. ENDs
