Pensioners under the auspices of Federal Concerned Pensioners of Nigeria have called on President Muhammadu Buhari to constituted an Independent Committee of Enquiry, to look into issues of the former Chairman of Pension Reforms Task Team ( PRTT), Dr. Abdulrasheed Maina.
Speaking during a press conference after a rally held by the group in Lagos, the Chairman of the retirees, Comrade David Adodo said, “there is need to create a safety environment for Dr. Maina to clarify himself on all the allegations because his case was not ordinary, there is more to this than meet the eyes.”
He further pointed out that “there is a need to ask a lot of questions whether Dr. Maina was given any funds to pay pensioners”.
He called for Dr. Maina to be given freedom and Presidential clearance to “explain to Nigerians how he came about the alleged billions of Naira it was claimed that he stole”
When maina was the chairman of PRTT, he was a God sent to al pensioners and we believe in his integrity and transparency.
He further said that “in 2012 Maina paid streams to pensioners despite not having any allocations given to him”.
We urge Mr President to as a matter of urgency bring back maina to continue his job. We can not than continue to remain on the street until maina is brought to open the secret on Pension saga where Billions of verification money Had been mismanagement.
