Chairman of the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC), in Nasarawa State, Philip Tatatari Shekwo, has dispel rumours making the rounds that there is division in the party, which has led to its fictionalization.
Shekwo, who dispelled the romour in his office in Lafia in the chart with journalist on Monday, described such rumours as baseless.
There were speculations in recent times about sharp division among APC leaders in the state thereby tearing the party apart.
But the APC chairman said it is not true as he blamed the opposition party in the state who are bent in creating division by spreading fake news.
“ In Nasarawa State APC has remained one, it is still one and it will continue to be one by the grace of God, we don’t have any division in our party”
“ All of us recognizes the structure of the party and we have a leader who is the sitting Governor in Nsarawa State and ever body knows that, so for anybody to speculate that there is division I think it is his wide imagination and if that is his wish let him be informed that it will never happen”
Also speaking on the zoning of Governorship to Nasarawa North Senatorial Zone in 2019, he said “ You know APC is a big party and everybody has the right to clamour for that, but as u are aware we also have structures where decision are taking, when we get to the bridge we will know how to cross”
Speaking on why council elections is yet to hold in the state, he disclosed that very soon the tenure of NASEIC officials will expire, so government will appoint new officials that will conduct council election.
He added that “Government has explained severally why there has be no election in Nasarawa State, this is due to paucity of founds. but very soon when the founds are available we will conduct local government election.
He called on the people of Nasarawa State to continue to support the APCs administration in the state to attract more developments.
“ I call on APC members and by extension people of the state to remain steadfast and resist divisive tendencies be it religion of tribal, that is what has kept us together in the state, be without peace, there will be no development.”
