18-Year Old Wins Miss Polo Nigeria 2017

It was tears of joy for 18-year old Miss Adeoye Adeola as she emerged winner of the 2017 edition of Miss Polo Nigeria Beauty Pageant, held at the Port Harcourt Polo Club, Port Harcourt.

The beauty contest which drew participants from all parts of the country, also saw Miss Titilope Okonlawon emerge as the first runner-up while Miss Stella Okuelege emerged as the second runner-up.

With this feat, the Lagos State-born beauty queen will represent Nigeria at the first ever Miss Polo International Beauty Pageant in 2018.

Speaking to newsmen after receiving the crown, Adeoye, who just completed her secondary education, promised to win the international Pageant for Nigeria.

She said, “I will work on my weakness, I will improve were necessary to ensure that at the end the crown will return with me to Nigeria.”

In her speech, organizer of the Beauty Pageant, Mrs Ibife Alufohari said, “The idea was to encouraged young girls on entrepreneurship and build on self confidence.”

Alufohai, who is also the President and Founder of Miss Polo International, said, “In the next three years, I will like to see polo pageant become a global annual event”.

She advised young girls to develop their skills and stop looking for jobs but should become employers of labour.
