KDHA Debunks Insinuations Over Suspension Of 2 PDP House Members

The Kaduna State House of Assembly has denied insinuations linking the suspension of two of its members on grounds that the suspended members were not in support of the Primary Teachers and Local Government Workers Sack.

This was made known by the Speaker Alhaji Aminu Abdullahi Shagali during an interview with newsmen at the Assembly.

According to the Speaker, the rule of every Assemby says that if any member tries to bring disunity among the members of the Assembly, then the speaker has every right to suspend that member and that was what i did, they were found trying to bring disunity among us, to this we suspended them. This is just the reason and nothing else.

Sacking of a government worker is the work of the executive and it is not as it has been spreading around saying they were trying to fight for the right of the local government workers and primary school teachers who are going to be sacked. This is not true, he said.

Following the suspension of Hon. Dr. Bityong Yakubu Nkom (kaura) and Hon. Danladi Angulu Kwasu (Zangon Kataf) both of the People’s Democratic Party (PDP) from the sitting and other activities of the House by a resolution yesterday, the Honourable Speaker, ordered that both should be suspended and it was followed by a valid motion.

The Speaker stressed that their action constituted an act of willful disobedience of a resolution of the Hon.House and an order made by the speaker.

In view of the above and further to the order of suspension of Hon. Bityong Yakubu Nkom and Hon. Danladi Angulu Kwasu, the Hon. House do resolve as follows that:

“no salary or allowances payable to any member of the House for his service as such shall be paid to them in respect of any period in which they are suspended from the service of the honourable House.

“all property owned by government in their possession should be returned to the office of the clerk immediately.

“they should vacate government quarters which they are occupying immediately pending the outcome of the Committee on Ethics and privileges of the Hon.House and the Clerk should communicate to them.

Meanwhile the Assembly passed the sum of over 216 billion of the 2018 budget into Law with increment of 100 million naira following the request from the Health Sector to fund the Barau Dikko Teaching Hospital for proper functioning.

It will be recalled that the Budget earlier presented to the house was over 216.5 billion naira. Other Ministries and Agencies also made who also requested for increment was treated unternally. Said Hon. Ahmad Muhammad , Chairman House Committee on Appropriation.

Hon.Ahmad said before the budget was passed, it has undergone proper scrutiny where all MDA’s met with the proper committees to ckear gray areas and this made the passage of the budget to be prompt
