In commemoration of The United Nations’ 2017 International Year of Sustainable Tourism for Development, the United Nation has partnered Bridges International Foundation and Dynetro Consults Ltd to mark this years’ event in Nigeria.
Speaking on the coming event, Bridges International said it is poised on promoting peace and security in Nigeria through this event, as an international organization fully aligned with the UN World Tourism Organization (UNWTO).
One of Nigeria’s leading travel consulting firms, Dynetro Consults Limited with advanced expertise in the travel/tourism industry will handle travel logistics for the programme.
The event tagged: “Tourism for Mutual Understanding, Peace and Security”, is a consumer-oriented campaign aimed at raising awareness of the value and contribution that sustainable tourism can make towards development. The campaign intends to engage tourists on how to make the sector a viable catalyst for positive change.
According to the organizers, the event is aimed at providing opportunities for cross-cultural encounters capable of building peace. Participants are expected to discuss how the sector can recover quickly from security threats, showcase tourism as a tool for soft diplomacy at this critical period in Nigeria and to also break down barriers and builds bridges among all participants.
The event, which will take place on December 16, 2017, will feature a PREMIUM weekend trip to Kajuru Castle in Kaduna State for managers, professionals, entrepreneur and other interested members of the public.
