Enyimba youngster, Ikouwem Udoh, has received a call-up to the senior national team, the Super Eagles Team B.
The 20-year-old was invited to the camp of the home-based Super Eagles side as part of preparations for the African Nations Championship (CHAN) in January.
It is a remarkable rise for Ikouwem, whose first team debut with Enyimba came on the 19th of March 2017 in a league match against ABS FC.
Promoted from the Enyimba Feeder’s team at the start of the 2017 season, the left-back made 10 league appearances for the People’s Elephants, impressing with his speed and crossing ability.
He caught the eyes of national team handlers at the recently concluded NPFL Invitational, starting the first two games, one of which was against the CHAN Eagles.
His invitation swells the Enyimba contingent in the national team, with Theophilus Afelokhai, Nasiru Sani, Austin Oladapo and Ibrahim Mustapha also having been called up earlier.
