Kaduna state government has said it has sustainably achieved five years without any polio case.
The commissioner of Health Dr Paul Manya Dogo disclosed this at a retreat organised by Kaduna State primary health care development agency for three local government administrators of the state to strengthen routine immunisation.
While commending parents for allowing their children be immunised within the period of years under review, he thanked them for the concerted efforts to sustain the achievement.
Also speaking on the essence of the retreat, deputy director of the agency Hamza Ibrahim said they used the local government administrator to reach out to people at the grassroots on the need to better their health.
Highlights of the retreat included the presentation of monetary support by Nigeria National polio plus to the family of immunization worker Ramatu Abdullahi who lost her life and those that sustained injuries during the last immunisation exercise at Rigachukwu Barakalawu in Kaduna north local government area of Kaduna state.
