The Speaker Nasarawa State House of Assembly, Ibrahim Balarabe-Abdullahi, has distributed N20, 000 each to 100 students of his constituency, 65 sewing machines and over 700 wrappers to women in his constituency worth N15million.
Ibrahim-Abdullahi (APC- Umaisha/Ugya), while distributing the items at the weekend in Umasha, assured the electorate of his resolve to continue to initiate more peoples oriented programmes that have direct bearing on their lives.
The Speaker also presented N30, 000 each to 100 women of his constituency to enable them start petty businesses of their choice in order to better their standard of living and that of their family members.
Ibrahim-Abdullahi also distributed 12 refrigerators and 12 generating sets to 6 women leaders and 6 assistant women leaders in the six electoral wards of his constituency to enable them enjoy the dividend of democracy.
In a speech at the occasion, he said “Today, I deem it fit to come and appreciate you again for electing me in to the state legislature by distributing N20, 000 each as scholarship to 100 students of my constituency under my pet project, ‘Balarabe Education Support Programme’.
“I also deem it fit to distribute N30,000 each to 100 women, 65 sewing machines, over 700 wrappers to women,12 refrigerators and 12 generating sets to 6 women leaders and 6 assistant women leaders in the six electoral wards of my constituency as part of my empowerment programmes.
“All these gesture to the people of my constituency was part of my fulfillment of my campaign promises to the party and the electorates in order to better the standard of living of my constituents and the state at large,”
He also used the medium to call on the people of his constituency and Nigerians to continue to pray and support President Muhammadu Buhari, Gov.Al-Makura’s administration and other leaders to enable them succeed in the task ahead of them.
“I want to use this medium to appreciate Gov.Tanko Al-makura for the cordial relationship and understanding with the legislature and I assure him of our continue support for the good of our people,”
In their goodwill messages Alhaji Zakari Ide, the All Progressive Congress (APC) National Vice Chairman, North Central zone and Phillip Tatari Shekwo, Nasarawa state chairman of All Progressive Congress (APC) while presenting the items to the beneficiaries, urged them to use the items for the purpose it was meant for.
They both commended the speaker for the gesture and called on other elected and appointed political class to emulate him.
Responding on behalf of other beneficiaries, Usman Sidi, a student of Federal Polytechnic, Nasarawa, thanked the speaker for the gesture, describing the gesture by the speaker as first of it kind in the political history of the area and called for its sustenance.
