The Ona of Abaji and chairman council of traditional rulers in the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), Alhaji Adamu Baba Yunusa, has suspended the Madakin Ganagana, Adamu Aliyu.

The Ona, who stated this through the Madakin of Abaji, Alhaji Ibrahim Ahmadu Aguye, while addressing newsmen at his palace, explained that the palace suspended Aliyu for given traditional titles to some Ganagana indigenes of the area, against the unanimous decision of the traditional council.

He explained further that the council could not deduce why the Madakin went ahead to turban some people, even after traditional council members of the palace had unanimously resolved to suspend given any kind of traditional title to any prominent persons.

The Ona added that there was a circular, issued by the FCT minister, Muhammad Musa Bello, which suspended the giving of traditional titles or appointment of any village chief.

According to him, “Therefore, this palace has decided to suspend the Madakin Ganagana of Abaji, Aliyu Adamu, for going ahead to turban some people, despite that I have directed that any turbaning of traditional title be suspended, “ he said.

In his reaction, the Madakin Ganagana of Abaji, Adamu Aliyu, said he was aware of his suspension when the Ona of Abaji, summoned him for a meeting at his palace on last week.

LEADERSHIP gathered that the Madakin Ganagana had earlier conferred various traditional titles on 22 prominent Ganagana indigenes of the area, including the chairman of Abaji area council, Alhaji Abdulrahman Ajiya.
