The National Emergency Management Agency (NEMA) has donated relief materials to displaced persons from the Christmas day communal clash between Hausa and Gbagyi communities in Bwari area council.
Among relief materials donated are 100 bags of rice, 50 bags of beans, 50 bags of maize,150 cartoons of indomie noodles, 500 pieces of mat and mosquito nets,500 blankets, and other domestic items, to help cushion the effect of the clash.
The head, Abuja operations office of NEMA, Bitrus Samuel while handing over the materials to the Bwari area council chairman, noted the materials was provided to bring succour to those displaced by the clash.
Samuel disclosed that there is an ongoing assessment by NEMA and the FCT Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) to see other areas they could provide relief to affected persons.
Receiving the items, the chairman Bwari area council, Musa Dikko, appreciated the agency for its prompt response, assuring that the council would ensure it gets to all the displaced persons.
Dikko revealed that all displaced persons have been moved back to their various homes from Ushapha Army Barracks.
