Maina Decries Poor State Of Abuja University Of Technology

The secretary, Education Secretariat of the Federal Capital Territory Administration (FCTA), Senator Isa Maina has expressed displeasure on the state of the proposed Abuja University of Science and Technology, Abaji (AUTA).

Speaking to newsmen, when he visited the site of the proposed university, Maina expressed shocked on how such an important project has been allowed to go unrealized for so long.

According him, “I must confess that I was not at all happy with what I met on ground. I saw completed classroom blocks, hostels, laboratories and office furniture complexes, falling into disrepair, because they were not put to use more than five years after completion.”

He expressed the determination of the secretariat and the administration to see to the completion and eventual take-off of the university, adding that all the necessary modalities are being put in place to meet the proposed date for the eventual commencement of academic activities.

Maina maintained that the FCT minister, Malam Muhammad Musa Bello was very passionate about the project and is committed to seeing that academic activities begin in the institution next academic session.
