Chief Yohanna Kukah, the paramount ruler of Ikulu nation in Zangon Kataf Local Government Area of Kaduna State, who was abducted 10 days ago, has regained his freedom.
The royal father is the younger brother to Bishop Matthew Hassan Kukah, the Catholic Bishop of Sokoto Diocese.
Mr. Allahmagani Yohanna of Ikulu Traditional Council who announced the monarch’s release, said the royal father, who has since join his family, is in good health.
He said “With gratitude to God, we the entire Ikulu nation wish to announce the release of our Royal Father, HRH Mal. Yohanna Sidi Kukah, the Agwom Akulu this afternoon. He was abducted by armed gun men on the night of Jananuary 2nd, 2018 at his residence in Anchuna.
“He is hale and hearty. We will like to thank the security agencies, various religious and Traditional rulers, the media and the general public for their support, prayers and solidarity,” said Allahmagani on behalf of the chiefdom.
It was not clear whether ransom was paid for his release, as the kidnappers had made several demands before he could be release.
