Protesters in their hundreds yesterday took to the streets of Kaduna metropolis in support of the state government stance to sack workers and teachers in the state sàid to have failed competency test.
The protesters who commenced their protest from the Murtala Mohammed square through independence road, Waff road through Ali Akilu road chanted solidarity songs with placards carrying varying inscriptions in support of the government quest to provide qualitative education in the state.
Recall that the Nigeria Labour Congress (NLC) under the leadership of its President Ayuba Wabba led thousands of her member in protest against the sack of about 36,000 workers including teachers who failed the competency test.
It would also be recalled that governor Nasir el- Rufai on Channels Television also reiterated his stance to sack the teachers who failed he competency test in spite of the protest, stressing that he will not rescind the government decision under whatever guise.
