. . . PDP Donates Items To Benue IDPs

Peoples’ Democratic Party, (PDP) has stressed that it cannot play politics in the face of killing of innocent Nigerians while donating food and non food materials worth millions of naira to IDPs in Benue State.

The national chairman of the Party, Prince Uche Secondus, said this yesterday in Makurdi, Benue State capital when he donated relief materials to the state government for onward distribution to the displaced persons of the recent attack by suspected Fulani herdsmen terrorists.

Represented by the deputy national chairman, Elder Yemi Akinwomi, he said the party commiserated with Benue people over the recent killing of over 73 persons, stating that it is on the basis of this that, they came to give their little contribution to cushion the effect of the displaced persons.

“PDP sympathise with innocent children and our mothers who were brutally killed for a problem they know nothing about. The party sues for peace and unity of the country.”

Amongst items donated include, food items like bags of beans, rice and maize, mattresses, blankets, buckets and wrappers worth millions of naira.

Receiving the items through the commissioner for Justice and Attorney General Barr Michael Gusah, governor Samuel Ortom, appreciated the party leadership for the gesture, noting that it has demonstrated true brotherliness in spite party affiliation.

He assured that the relief materials would be judiciously distributed to the displaced persons.
