The acting leader of the Elders caucus of the APC in Ede South LG and a former welfare secretary of the party in the state of Osun, Hon. Deji Agboola has described the governor of the state as a result oriented and performing administrator who has blaze many trails and set remarkable standards for governance and government in the state.
Hon. Agboola made this assertion when reacting to the Osun gubernatorial election which will be held later this year, in his words “Ogbeni Aregbesola should be commended for the indelible marks he has imprinted on the sands of time for generations yet unborn in terms of laudable projects, infrastructural revolution, rare patriotism, prudent management of scarce financial resources, impactful welfare programmes, indeed he has justified the confidence Osun people reposed in him in the last 86months.
He also noted that despite the unwarranted public negative outcry and distractions created by enemies within and outside the state, over his policies and unique style of governance, it is not surprising that Osun is rated as the second wealthiest state in Nigeria, going by the recently released performance index on all the 36 states, this has further demonstrated that the governor understands the nitty gritty of governance, government operations and political administration, as such he should be given the leverage to carefully anoint his successor from the ruling party as he presently holds the ace and should also set the pace. It is therefore advisable for the electorates not to think or give the PDP consideration as they are yet to account for the huge wastages, financial misappropriation that occurred while they were at the helms of affairs in Osun, they lack credibility and doesn’t in any way understand the progressive and workable solutions to Osun surmountable challenges, “Atari Ajanaku, ki se’eru omode”
He also said that the task of getting who succeed Aregbesola is a very cumbersome one which will require somebody who’s knowledgeable, intelligently grounded, administratively savvy and has the inherent capacity to manage Osun limited financial resources proficiently. The entire succession process should be devoid of constituency , religious or gender sentiments, it’s should about competency majorly, about someone who has capacity to take Osun to greater height inspite of paucity of fund he concluded
