Over 2000 Benefit From Sen. Wamakko’s Medical Outreach In Sokoto

Over 2000 persons suffering from various eye ailments in Sokoto state have benefited from Senator Aliyu Magatakarda Wamakko’s medical outreach tagged, Free Eye Care programme.

According to a statement sent to LEADERSHIP Sunday by the Senators spokesperson, Bashir Rabe Mani, the free medical outreach was one of the Senator’s numerous ways of touching the lives of the commonman in the state.

The Wamakko’s free eye treatment, covers the entire state and not restricted to his Senatorial District of Sokoto North.

Speaking after the completion of the 8 local government areas of Sokoto East Senatorial District, Senator Wamakko’s Director of Administration, Alhaji Al-Mustapha Abubakar Alkali affirmed that, 1,594 patients benefitted from the scheme in the Senatorial District.

He listed benefiting local government’s in the area to include, Sabon Birni, Isa, Goronyo, Wurno, Rabah, Gada, Gwadabawa and Illela.

The statement said that, the remaining 362 patients were treated in Kebbe and Tambuwal local governments in the state.

Al-Mustapha divulged that this years free eye treatment which was flagged off on January 4th,2018, in Sabon Birni town, is targeting over 3,150 patients in nineteen local governments of the state.

The statement further recalled that, the first phase of the programme conducted between July and August, 2017, covered over 1,300 patients in the eight local governments that make up the Sokoto North Senatorial District.

Reacting to the gesture, some of the beneficiaries prayed Almighty God to always grant Senator Wamakko sound health and more grace to continue to make impact in the lives of humanity.

According to them, posterity will forever remember Senator Wamakko as one individual whose love for humanity remained unmatched by the nations current crop of leaders.

They said, Wamakko is simply a replica of the Premier of northern Nigeria, late Sir Ahmadu Bello both in character and love for humanity irrespective of religion, ethnicity and political lineage.
