Briefing newsmen yesterday in Jalingo, the Taraba State Commissioner of Police, Mr. David Akinremi, said the murder of the late lawmaker was unfortunate particularly when every steps were being taken to get him rescued in good health.

“I decided to invite you gentlemen of the press in order to update you about the security situation in the state with particular reference to the kidnapping of late Hon. Hosia Ibi, memember representing Takum 1, in the Taraba State House of Assembly, who was later found dead having been murdered by his abductors” he said.

He explained that the kidnappers decided to carry out such dastardly act in order to divert the attention of security agencies and also make sure they did not leave any trace that could lead to their arrest.

He informed that the command is more committed than ever before and would do everything within its professional ability to fish out those responsible to face the wrath of the law.

“We placed this ten million naira as reward for any person(s) who have useful information that could lead to the arrest of those responsible for the murder of the late member representing Takum 1, in the Taraba State House of Assembly, Hon. He called on the general public to remain calm as the command was doing all within its power to guarantee security and public safety.
