Akeredolu Enforces Official Price Of Petrol In Ondo

The Ondo State Governor, Oluwarotimi Akeredolu, SAN, has expressed displeasure that some stations were not complying with the official pump price of N145 per litre in the state.

Akeredolu disclosed this during his unannounced visit to some petrol stations in Akure, the Ondo State capital.

The governor who was accompanied by the State Task Force on Petrol headed by Dr Doyin Odebowale, ordered strict compliance with the official pump price in all the petrol station visited.

At TBK Oil on Oda Road, owned by a former legislator, Akeredolu was shocked that the station was dispensing fuel at N190 per litre.

The governor, who was not comfortable with the excuses of the station owner that his staff went against his directive to sell at normal price, immediately ordered that the station revert back to official price.

He equally directed the State Task Force to remain at the station until its stock is dispensed.

The State Government has repeatedly stated in clear terms that it will not tolerate the hoarding of petroleum products, and threatened to impose sanctions against culprits of fuel diversion, hoarding and over-pricing.

The State Government had, at the weekend, warned marketers in the state to stop diverting or hoarding the product.
