2 Policemen Killed, 1 Injured In Benue

Benue State police commissioner, Fatai Owoseni has said that a suspected militia group  in shitile ward of Katsina -Ala local government led by a wanted criminal, Terwase Akwaza alias Gana has attack a community in  Ukum local government and in the process two police men were killed and many houses set ablaze.

The CP who made this known while speaking with newsmen  also said police on patrol  in Guma, were

ambushed by unknown gunmen and in the process one of the police men was shot on the leg and another one missing, linked the killing of the two police men to Gana.

“Although we believe that the missing police officer will be found alive because it was an ambushed and everyone was running for safety. Up till now, we have not seen him but we have already deploy our reinforcement team to the area,” he said.

The police boss who described the killings in Benue as gorilla war fare, added that strong strategy needed to be apply to bring in member of

the communities as key partners in intelligence gathering. He said policing in the modern days is beyond carrying mere riffle.

“The command under my watch is doing everything possible to  bring the perpetrators  of the heinous act to book. We appealed for community members to always availed the police with useful information to help them better”

Meanwhile Benue Youth Forum has urged security agencies to as a matter of urgent arrest Terwase Akwaza AKA Gana for perpetrating such a dastardly act against his people.

According to the leader of the group, Terence Kuanum,  Gana is acting on the script and sponsorship of enemies of the state.

“Gana has already been declared wanted by the government of Benue State over his crimes against the people. His arrest will also exposed

his paymasters and bring them to justice.

“We also urge the affected communities to put their pain behind them as it is part of the sacrifices we are making to protect our God-given

territories from the scourge of invaders.
