Super Eagles’ coaching crew is leaving no stone unturned as their perfect strategies ahead of Sunday’s decisive quarterfinal match against Angola.
The Eagles have been practising penalties according to assistant coach, Imama Amapakabo.
That some of the world’s best players often ‘choke’ and collapse under the weight of expectations during penalty shootout is a known fact hence the Nigerian lads are being tutored against becoming ‘choke artists’ on the big stage by their coaching crew.
Nigeria qualified from group C scoring four goals and conceding one. Even though their Sunday’s opponents have not been free scoring in Morocco too, they boast one of the best defenses.
Angola only managed a goal in three group stage matches and have let none in, finishing in runner-up spot behind Congo.
“We’ve have considered every likely scenario in the knockout stage of the CHAN. The technical crew have tactical meetings and we also assign responsibilities to the players.
‘What I can assure is that we have every 23 player in team fit and ready for Sunday,” Amapakabo stated on Brila FM’s show, Sports Square.
