The Kaduna State House of Assembly yesterday passed into Law the Contributory Health Management Authority 2017 bill.
This followed the presentation of report by the chairman, House Committee on Health, Dr Isaac Zainkhai and was adopted and passed in to law by the Speaker Alhaji Aminu Shagali.
Contributory Health Management Authority bill seeks to ensure that resident of Kaduna State have access to effective quality and affordable health care services.
The bill also seek to protect them from the financial hardship of huge medical bills, to limit the inflatory effects of the rise in cost of health care services and ensure the availability of alternative sources of funding to health sector for improve service.
The sitting which was presided by the Speaker, Alhaji Aminu Shagali, also passed the Kaduna State Aids Control Agency (KADSACA) bill into Law.
Shagali said the essence of the bill is to establish Kaduna Aids Control Agency law 2018.
The bill was aimed at reviewing the establishment of KADSACA for effective and efficient coordination of Multi-sectoral response to HIV and Aids in the state.
Meanwhile, a bill to amend the Kaduna State College of Midwifery 2017 has also been passed in to law with the primary aim at amending some sections from the principal law.
