FG Delegation Condol Buratai Over The Loss Of His Father



The Federal government Delegation led by the National Security Adviser, Gen Babagana Monguno ( RTD) were on Friday  in Maiduguri to condol the Chief Of Army Staff, Lt Gen Tukur yusuf Brutai over the death of his father, Alhaji Yusuf Buratai.
Late Baba Buratai as he is fondly called  and a World War 11 veteran who served the West African Army in 1942 died Friday morning in Maiduguri.He was  laid to rest admist crowd of sympathizers at the famous Gwange Cemetary at 2:pm in Maiduguri , the Borno state capital same day.
The leader of the FG delegation, Monguno who led the Minister of Defence, Mansur Dan Ali and Minister of Works, Power and Housing, Mustapha Baba Shehuri said Baba lived a remarkable life worthy of emulation and left behind a legacy to be reckoned with by everybody.
” As a retired soldier of the Nigerian army who fought even the first world war , gave birth to many children and among them is the COAS whom he trained and  survived  to see him join the Nigerian army too while the father was alive,  and rose credibly to the rank of Lt. General and position of COAS during his lifetime as a father is remarkable”, Monguno said.
The NSA prayed Allah to grant late Yusuf Bututai mercy and forgive him as well bless the wife and children he left behind.
The Borno State Governor, Kashim Shettima in his remarks,   said the mammoth crowd that converged at the Jummaat Mosque and performed the burial and funeral prayers of the late Yusuf Burutai was a clear testimony that  baba lived a better and honest live.
He prayed  God to grant him eternal rest and forgive all his sins.
Other dignitoires at the burial and funeral prayers include the Chief Of Air staff , Air Marshal Sadique Abubakar ,the Theatre Commander Operation Lafiya Dole, Maj Gen Rogers Nicholas , Other Top Militry Commanders,  the chairman Senate Committee on Defence, Senator Abu Kyari, Senator Mohammed Ali Ndume, Chairman House Committee on Defence,  Aliyu Betara among others.
Late Yusuf Burutai aka Baba is aged 106 years. He  is survived by one wife, 15 children comprising 10 females and 5 males  among whom is the Chief of Army Staff, Lt Gen Tukur yusuf Brutai, the Chief Of Army Staff.
According to family source, associate friend to COAS, Usman Mari Kidah, the deceased died after a briief illness at the University of Maiduguri Teaching Hospital ( UMTH) .
