2019: NURTW Roots For PMB, Gov Bagudu

The National Union of Road Transport Workers (NURTW) has declared to support President Muhammadu Buhari and Governor Abubakar Atiku Bagudu of Kebbi State for second term in office at the 2019 general election .

The national president of the union , Alhaji Najeeb Usman Makama announced this in Birnin Kebbi at the weekend during a mass rally organised by the Kebbi State branch of the union in support of APC led administration at the federal and  state levels.

He told the mammoth crowd of NURTW and APC members at Haliru Abdu Stadium in Birnin Kebbi that president Buhari remains the most credible person to continue in office as the President of Nigeria in view of the importance he attaches to improving roads and the transport sector of the country.

“President Buhari more than any other president this country had has embarked on improving our roads across the country  which has rekindled confidence of travellers, he has also restored security and tranquility in Nigeria,”he said.

He maintained that the national body of the union was in full support of the decision taken by the state branch to endorse president Buhari and governor Bagudu for the second term come 2019. The national chairman of NURTW was represented by the national auditor of the union, Yahuza Yan-Kaba at the rally .

The Kebbi State chairman of the union, Usman Abubakar directed all members of the union to reelect for the second term in office president Buhari and governor Bagudu because of their track records of achievements .

In his remarks, governor Abubakar Atiku Bagudu of Kebbi State appreciated support of the union to the APC led administration and promised to deliver their letter to the president.

He announced that the state government will provide 200 million naira to the union as soft loan to enable the union purchase busses for its members while another 200 million will be made available as soft loan to National Union of Road Transport Owners (NARTO).
