The Pharmaceutical Society of Nigeria (PSN) has signed Memorandum of Understanding with Johnson & Jonson (Janssen) to engage in a strategic partnership to expand access to innovative cancer medicines for PSN members and larger society.
The president, PSN, Pharm. Yakasai said the prime goal for PSN is to “ensure fewer people develop cancer, more people are successfully treated, there is a better quality of life for people during treatment and beyond, and that people are winning the war against cancer in Nigeria, Africa and the world”.
Speaking on the 2018 world cancer day with the theme: ‘We can. I can.’, the president said this year’s theme will explore how everyone, as a collective or as individuals, can do their part to reduce the global burden of cancer.
Just as cancer affects everyone in different ways, Yakasai said all people have the power to take various actions to reduce the impact that cancer has on individuals, families and communities.
