Sokoto Police Parade 12 Armed Robbers, Illicit Drug Dealers

The Nigeria Police Force (NPF), Sokoto Command said, it apprehended 12 suspected armed robbers and a handsome number of others indulging in illicit drug activities.

Parading the 12 suspected armed robbers, the Command’s public relations officer, CSP Cordelia Nwawe, said that on 9th February, 2018 at about 3:40pm, one Abubakar Umaru of Kurinya Village, Yabo LGA, reported how Abubakar Muhammad and five others, now at large, criminally conspired, armed themselves with dangerous weapons, buggled his house, raped his wife and robbed him of his Kasea motorcycle, the sum of #1000, transistor radio, memory card.

The Police spokesperson said another set of criminals, led by one Ali Abubakar, with five other persons, well-armed, attacked and robbed people at Saketa Village in Bodinga LGA of the state.

Speaking to journalists, the suspects confessed to the crime, saying they were directed by one Nafiu Umar, who is a neighbour to the victim.

Also, the Police arrested Emmanuel Joseph, who was in possession of 13 Cartons of hard drug, suspected to be Codeine at Tamaje area, old airport within the metropolis.

While urging people to be weary of their neighbours, the PPRO solicited for useful information from members of the public to allow for effective policing.

PPRO stated further that, Sokoto Police Command, under the leadership of Ibrahim Mani will ensure that, Sokoto State remains a crime-free state.
